Monkeys and Peaches

Inspired by the legend of the Monkey King, this pattern was designed to feel symmetrical and ornamental at first glance. Looking closer, the viewer begins to notice that many of the elements are similar but not identical. These small variations create interactions between the monkeys and gradually reveal a story hidden within the pattern.

My goal was to combine the harmony of a decorative repeat with the feeling of an unfolding narrative, rewarding closer observation with new details and connections between the characters.
