This pattern was commissioned by the international travel company EWTC and developed as part of the brand's visual identity. The brief was to celebrate the company's key destinations by bringing together iconic landmarks from around the world within a single decorative composition.
Architectural subjects present a unique challenge in pattern design. Their strong geometric structure naturally imposes a rigid rhythm, which can be difficult to balance within a narrative and organic composition. To address this, I arranged the landmarks according to their geographical locations while integrating them into a lush environment of plants and foliage.
By partially concealing the buildings within the landscape and using deep shadows and solid graphic shapes, I was able to soften their geometry, create a stronger sense of depth, and unify the composition into a cohesive and rhythmic pattern.
